SPACE10 Gallery: Design in the Age of AI

  • SPACE10 10 Flæsketorvet København, 1711 Denmark (map)

How will artificial intelligence change the way we imagine, design, and build the world around us?

With the rise of generative AI tools, we are entering an era of democratic design where anyone can envision the products, places, and spaces of tomorrow. Used as creative collaborators, these technologies can help us visualize better ways to live and reveal new ideas for creating more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient surroundings.

About the exhibition

Design in the Age of AI is a new exhibition featuring speculative design concepts from recent SPACE10 projects. It examines how AI can be used as a creative design tool, even a collaborator, inviting critical and grounded conversation.

With spatial design by Wang & Söderström, the exhibition reveals how AI can assist us in identifying hyperlocal and circular materials, envisage tomorrow’s regenerative homes and cities, and challenge how we design for longevity.

Visitors will discover new projects created with Panter&Tourron and oio, which use AI to question ingrained material and design processes. We also spotlight the winners of Regenerative Futures, our global AI design competition that challenged entrants to use AI to develop their vision of the future home, community, or city.

Collaborators

Wang & Söderström is a design duo investigating the relationship of digital technologies, materials and living things in the current and future digital and ecological shift. Their work translates into sculptures, visual imagery and installations that bring craft, body, nature and technology together.

Studio Hanna Bergman is a multidisciplinary practice founded by Hannah Bergman, specialising in visual communication within the cultural field. Established in 2014, its clients include Art Inside Out, Malmö Konsthall, and Thorvaldsens Museum.

Panter&Tourron works at the intersection of design, technology, and society through the creation of products and visual experiences. Driven by material investigation and technical innovation, the team challenges the contemporary codes of objects and images.

oio is a creative studio on a quest to turn emerging technologies into an approachable, everyday and sustainable reality — for humans and beyond. A small team of designers, technologists and bots, oio makes products and tools for a less-boring future.

Joss Fong is a video journalist who has been writing, editing, and animating explainer videos about science and technology for the past eight years. She holds a masters in science reporting from NYU.
