Are you an artist, designer, or maker who wants to start a professional career in the field of digital culture? Apply now for The Hmm’s first FYI Talent Program! Over the course of two months, this coming fall 2023, we’ll provide you with knowledge and support to build up your career as a digital artist.

What to expect?

The FYI Talent Program is designed to teach you about the digital culture ecosystem in the Netherlands and how you can develop your professional art practice within it. This includes not only developing your own practice, building a network, and presenting your work, but also learning about working conditions, your rights as a cultural worker, and different avenues for subsidies and financial support. Taking the form of seven intimate sessions and three studio visits, you’ll have the opportunity—together with 25 other emerging makers in digital culture—to learn from experienced mentors and professionals in the field. 

The sessions are themed as follows:
– Working on your future vision
– Mapping the scene and sharing network 
– Writing about yourself and/or your practice
– Presentation training
– Information fair pay practice 
– Grant writing workshop
– How to store digital art?

Along the way there will be a presentation moment in the form of a The Hmm event, where we connect you with a professional network.

Why are we organising this?

Over the past seven years we have given a stage to more than 500 digital makers and organised cultural events throughout the Netherlands. Through our research and hands-on work in the digital culture field, we’ve accumulated vital knowledge and built a large network, and we are happy to share these resources with up-and-coming talents.
